The Teen Challenge ministry began in the Dallas area in the mid-1950’s. It was
at that time that David Wilkerson held a rally in the area and from
that a group of enthusiastic individuals began to form what is today
North Texas TeenLife Challenge.
The ministry began holding street corner services and soon opened
a rented house for wayward boys needing a life changing experience
with Jesus Christ. The name Teen Challenge was a perfect fit.
In 1982, Paul and Linda Ecker became the Executive Directors
of North Texas TeenLife Challenge. What began as a small program
for boys
in trouble has now ministered to thousands of individuals with
incredible success. Today this ministry has multiple locations
located throughout
North Texas and focuses on helping change individuals that
have all kinds of life controlling issues.
